A Deep Sea Proposal...

Our galleries are regularly used to host wedding receptions and anniversary celebrations; rarely though, are they witness to proposals.

On Saturday October 13, Dee-J gallantly dropped to bended-knee and asked his sweetheart Vicki to marry him.

With some favourite poetry by Rumi, Nightingale, framed and hung in our Deep Oceans gallery and champagne on hand nearby, Vicki said "Yes".

Much kissing followed.

Dee-J and Vicki actually met each other in the Museum in February this year; each on separate visits and Vicki openly claims to be a "Museum Nerd", whatever that might be...

I secretly took some pictures of the event - apologies for the quality, it was an emotional occasion.

Everyone at the Australian Museum was very excited on the day and we all wish Vicki and Dee-J a long and lovely life together.
