Travis is the Producer, First Nations Public Programs at the Australian Museum looking after the public programs supporting the Unsettled exhibition and extending the digital content capabilities within the team. Travis brings a focus on creating new ways to look at First Nations works, focusing on audiences and how they can access the works with expanded context.

In 2020 Travis founded as a platform for First Nations digital based creatives, podcasters and gamers and works overseeing the budding network as the director of the non profit organisation: Awesome Black Aboriginal Corporation.

In addition to his work at the museum and with Awesome Black, De Vries is a concept artist, podcaster, writer and producer known for fusing Gamilaroi storytelling with modern tropes, characters and themes, bring an alternative approach to exploring traditional First Nations works. Travis works across multiple areas of practice using varying mediums to bring his ideas to life.

Travis lives between Sydney and his native homelands in the Hunter Valley of NSW with his partner and their 2 cats. He also sits on the board for Arts on Tour.
