Description

The Ridge-headed Crocodile hunted on the rainforest floor, eating whatever animals it could catch. It may even have ventured up the tree trunks looking for food. Compared with living crocodiles, the Ridge-headed Crocodile had a short head and large eyes.

Fossils

The Ridge-headed Crocodile was first discovered in 1987. A skull, other bones, and many teeth have been found, all at Riversleigh in north-western Queensland.
