The perfect rainy-day activity - fold your own origami jumping frog! All you’ll need is a few squares of paper and this easy step-by-step guide.

Fold as many frogs as you can and see which one jumps the highest.


How to fold an origami jumping frog by the Australian Museum.

What you need; paper square (15cm x 15cm)

Start with a square sheet of paper.

Fold it in half horizontally.

Fold the bottom corner up to the centre.

Repeat on the other side.

Turn the paper.

Fold the bottom corner up to the centre.

Repeat on the other side.

Pinch and fold the paper down along the existing creases.

Fold everything flat.

Turn the paper.

Repeat on the other side.

Fold everything flat.

Fold each flap into the centre.

Fold the triangle flap back on itself to the creased line.

Turn the paper.

Fold each flap into the centre.

Turn the paper.

Fold the bottom part up to the centre.

Fold the left side over into the centre.

Fold the right side over into the centre.

Turn the whole model over.

Fold the bottom part up to the centre, then half way back down.

Turn the whole model over.

If. you push down on the folds on its back, you can make it jump!
