Crested Pipefish, Histiogamphelus briggsii
Scientific name: Histiogamphelus briggsii
A Crested Pipefish at a depth of 2.5 m, Normanville, South Australia. 25 March 2014.
Notes
The species can be distinguished from the similar-looking Rhino Pipefish, Histiogamphelus cristatus, by the shorter ridge that runs along the top of the snout (ends on the intereorbital region rather than continuing through the interorbit in the Rhino Pipefish).
