Thank you for your interest in the Australian Museum (AM) Eureka Prizes. In order to participate in the AM Eureka Prizes, your entry must comply with:

  • Part A: the General Terms and Conditions; and
  • Part B: any specific terms for the prize category and/or prize you are entering,

(collectively referred to as “Terms & Conditions”).

Failure to meet all of the Terms & Conditions will automatically disqualify an entry. The AM reserves the right to disqualify non-conforming entries in its sole discretion and no correspondence will be entered into.


Part A. General Terms and Conditions

1. Timing of entry into the prize program

All entries must be received in full by the AM Eureka Prizes via the online entry system by the Entry Deadline. Received entries will be acknowledged by a confirmation email.

If you experience problems uploading your entry or have concerns about what has been uploaded, contact the AM Eureka Prizes via email eureka@australian.museum or phone (02) 9320 6230 prior to the Entry Deadline. The AM Eureka Prizes cannot modify or add to an entry (including Assessor Reports) after the Entry Deadline. Late or incomplete entries will not be accepted or considered.

2. Entry documentation

Entries must be submitted via the online entry system. Entries with incomplete sets of supporting documentation, as per the 'How to Enter' section for each prize, will not be considered. Submitted material will not be returned. Hard copy entries will not be considered unless there has been a prior agreement in writing with the AM.

By submitting an entry, you confirm that the information provided is true, accurate, and complete. You must not provide misleading or false information in an entry.

The AM reserves the right to disqualify entries, revoke prizes, and take appropriate action if misleading or inaccurate information is discovered, including after a Eureka Prize has been awarded.

If you find an error in your entry after submission, you should contact the AM Eureka Prizes immediately via email eureka@australian.museum or phone (02) 9320 6230.

The AM accepts no responsibility for entries that are delayed, incomplete, or are lost or not received due to technical or other issues.

If the AM finds an error or omission in an entry, we may ask for clarification or additional information from you. However, we can refuse to accept any additional information from you that would change your submission after the Entry Deadline.


3. Costs and expenses

There is no entry fee associated with entering the AM Eureka Prizes.

You (including your team, if applicable) enter the AM Eureka Prizes at your own risk and the AM Eureka Prizes, and associated prize partners and program supporters, will not be liable for any loss, damage or expense incurred by the entrant(s) as a result of entering the AM Eureka Prizes.

It is the responsibility of the entrant(s) to ensure that conditions of any sponsorship or funding agreements you (and your team) have entered into with a third party to produce the entry are met, and that full disclosure of such agreements is included as part of the supporting documentation for that entry.


4. Personal information

The collection and use of personal information contained in your entry will be conducted in accordance with the:

> AM’s Privacy statement and the AM’s Privacy Management Plan.

> State Records Act 1998 (NSW).

> Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW).

We may share the information we collect from you with AM employees and contractors, the judging panels, the prize partners, AM Eureka Prize sponsors and stakeholders and other NSW Government employees and contractors, so we can:

> Manage the AM Eureka Prizes program.

> Research, assess, monitor and analyse entries, the AM Eureka Prizes program and related activities.

By completing the online entry form, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the AM’s Privacy Statement, and you confirm that you have the consent of each individual (or their parent/guardian if under the age of 18) to submit their personal information.


5. Submitting confidential information

Entrants warrant that their entries do not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third parties.

Entrants acknowledge and agree that the AM will not be liable for any impact on the outcome of a patent application or the validity of a patent resulting from the submission of information for the AM Eureka Prizes. Entrants are responsible for assessing the potential impact of their entry on any patent applications and seeking legal advice and taking necessary precautions to safeguard any intellectual property rights subsisting in or relating to an entry.


6. Definitions

6.1 Definition of 'Australia or its territories'

For the purposes of the AM Eureka Prizes, ‘Australia or its territories’ refers to the following states and territories:

  • States of New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania
  • Northern Territory
  • Australian Capital Territory
  • Australian Antarctic Territory
  • Coral Sea Islands Territory
  • Jervis Bay Territory
  • Territory of Christmas Island
  • Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands
  • Territory of Norfolk Island
  • Territory of Ashmore and Cartier Islands
  • Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands

6.2. Definition of ‘career interruption’

For the purposes of the AM Eureka Prizes, a ‘career interruption’ is defined as a continuous absence from work for a period of more than one month.

The following significant and not overlapping interruptions will be considered:

  • Pregnancy.
  • Major illness/injury.
  • Carer’s responsibilities.
  • Non-research employment not concurrent with research employment.
  • For First Nations entrants and nominees, community responsibilities including ‘sorry business.’
  • Disaster management and recovery.
  • Disruption due to international relocation (maximum three months per international location).
  • Other reasons set out in the online entry form in the AM’s absolute discretion.

There are three Eureka Prizes that the career interruption provision applies to:

  • Outstanding Early Career Researcher.
  • Emerging Leader in Science.
  • Promoting Understanding of Science.

Information about eligible career interruptions will be collected via the online entry form.


7. Ethical conduct of entrants and nominees

The Australian Museum is committed to promoting ethical conduct in scientific research and scientific activities and reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates ethical principles or guidelines.

Participants are expected to conduct their research and related activities and submit entries in accordance with the highest ethical standards. In submitting an entry, the Entrant or Nominee confirms, on behalf of itself and any team members, that the research or activity that is the subject of the entry has been conducted ethically, in accordance with all applicable laws, and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.

Plagiarism, fabrication of data, and any other forms of academic misconduct may result in disqualification.

All research involving human subjects or animals must comply with relevant ethical guidelines. The AM may request evidence of relevant research approvals and permissions if necessary.

Entrants and nominees must not, and must ensure that its team members do not, engage in any conduct or activity that may harm the reputation of the Australian Museum, the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes, or individuals or employees associated with the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes or bring the Australian Museum or the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes into disrepute, contempt, scandal, or ridicule.


8. Judging

Judges will assess entries against the assessment criteria published on the AM Eureka Prizes website. The AM Eureka Prizes actively promote and enforce ethical standards throughout the judging process.

The deliberations of the judging panel remain confidential. All recommendations and decisions taken, and the award of prizes, is binding and final and no correspondence will be entered into on such matters.

The judges, in discussion with the AM, reserve the right not to award a Eureka Prize if, in their view, the quality of entries is insufficiently meritorious when reviewed against the assessment criteria.


9. Finalists

For each prize, Finalists will be contacted by the AM Eureka Prize team before the Public Finalist Announcement date. The term 'Finalist' includes all AM Eureka Prize finalists as well as all Highly Commended entries for the Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize. The following terms relate to all Finalists.

9.1 Finalists are required to provide images and a short film (Promotional Material) that relates to their Entry (in the case of the Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize Finalists the film is the one included in the entry). By submitting your entry, you give the AM and prize partners a non-exclusive, sub-licensable, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use and reproduce Promotional Material in whole or in part for the purposes of promoting the Eureka Prizes or the purposes of the AM more generally in any format or in any media in existence now or in the future.

9.2 Entrants who provide Promotional Material to the AM Eureka Prizes give permission to the AM Eureka Prizes to edit the provided Promotional Material. The AM will take steps to ensure any edits do not undermine the accuracy or integrity of the work presented in the Promotional Material.

9.3 It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to obtain any necessary permission from third parties for the use of their intellectual property in any Promotional Material (including any recorded music in the Promotional Material). Entrants warrant that they have obtained all necessary permissions and indemnify the AM and its prize partners for any infringement of a third parties’ intellectual property rights.

9.4 Finalists may publicly state (e.g. in their CV, publicly available biography, Wikipedia page etc.) that they are an AM Eureka Prize highly commended student, an AM Eureka Prize finalist and/or an AM Eureka Prize winner. However, in each case, the reference must include the full prize name alongside the specific year the entrant/s were selected as a finalist and/or winner e.g. Winner of the 2024 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Science Journalism.

9.5 Each AM Eureka Prize winner, whether an individual or a team member, will be provided with a year specific digital badge within two months of being announced a winner that they can use, at their discretion, to promote their winner status (email signatures, personal webpages, blogs, portfolios, etc.) Additional terms and conditions may apply to the use of the digital badge. For the avoidance of doubt, where winners belong to, or are affiliated with, organisations, those organisations are not permitted to use the digital badge to promote their organisation (unless the organisation as a whole has won the prize). Organisations should contact the AM Eureka Prizes for marketing guidelines.

9.6 The Australian Museum and Eureka Prizes are trade marks owned by the Australian Museum. The Australian Museum grants to each AM Eureka Prize winner a limited, non-exclusive and revocable licence to use such trade marks as part of the digital badge solely in accordance with section 9.5. The Australian Museum may revoke or terminate such licence for any reason.

9.7 Entrants agree not to use the name or trade marks of the Australian Museum in a manner that may impact the reputation or goodwill of the Australian Museum or the Eureka Prizes. Entrants must not apply for the registration of any trademark consisting of or containing the words: “Australian Museum” or “Eureka Prizes”.

9.8 Finalists (both teams and individuals) may be approached by the AM and/or AM Eureka Prize partners to participate in events and/or communication activities in their capacity as a finalist or winner. This event may be filmed and streamed in various media. By attending the event, finalists consent to being filmed for such purpose, unless they otherwise notify the Australian Museum in writing.


10. Prize money

10.1 All Research & Innovation, Leadership and Science Engagement Eureka Prizes:

The prize money of $10,000 (GST exclusive) to be awarded to the winner of each prize will be paid via bank transfer as per the instructions provided to the AM Eureka Prizes administration team via the winner payment form completed by the winner. Prizes may be split up amongst team members up to the total value of the prize money.

10.2 School Science Eureka Prize

10.21 For individual entries, prize money is divided equally between the winning entrant and their school. For team entries, 50 percent of the prize money will be divided equally between entrants and 50 percent will be paid directly to their school. If a winning entrant is educated at home in accordance with the relevant state or territory legislation, 100 percent of the prize money will be awarded to the entrant(s).

10.22 For any other prizes that may be awarded, the recipients of these prizes should adhere to any terms and conditions provided by the vendor of that prize. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash. The AM will not take responsibility for lost vouchers.


Part B. Category and Prize Specific Terms and Conditions

In addition to the General Terms & Conditions in Part A, your entry must also comply with the specific terms for the relevant prize category (listed below) as well as any prize specific terms.

11. Category terms: Research & Innovation prizes

11.1 Individuals and teams

11.1.1 The Eureka Prize for Outstanding Early Career Researcher is open to individuals only.

11.1.2 All other prizes in the Research & Innovation category are open to individuals and teams. Team entries are allowed only if the activity entered is the result of a collaborative team effort. For team entries:

  • Comprising of between two and six individuals, the first listed entrant must be the team leader. You must describe the contribution of each individual to the research and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to the listed individuals. This explanation must be included in the ‘research summary.’
  • Comprising of more than six individuals, the listed entrant must be the team leader and they must enter under a team name. They are required to briefly describe the composition of the team and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to a team of more than six individuals. This explanation must be included in the ‘research summary.’

11.2 Citizenship

  • For an individual entry, the entrant must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident.
  • For team entries comprising of between two and six individuals, the team leader must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident. Members of the team do not have to fulfil this requirement.
  • For team entries comprising of more than six individuals, the team leader must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident. Members of the team do not have to fulfil this requirement.

11.3 Activity location

Activity entered for Research & Innovation prizes must have taken place in or been led from Australia, as defined in the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Terms and Conditions (Clause 6).

11.4 Entrants can either enter themselves or be nominated by others. If an entrant is nominated it is important that they provide input into and consent to the submission of the entry documentation.

11.5 The activity entered or nominated for Research & Innovation prizes may not be entered or nominated for another AM Eureka Prize in the same year.

11.6 Activity that has been awarded an AM Eureka Prize in the past cannot be entered again. Non-winning finalist activity is eligible for re-entry, so long as it meets all other conditions of entry.

12. Prize specific terms: Research & Innovation prizes

12.1 Eureka Prize for Environmental Research

12.1.1 This prize is open to individuals and teams if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.1.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.1.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e. published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.1.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


12.2 Australian Institute of Botanical Science Eureka Prize for Excellence in Botanical Science

12.2.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.2.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.2.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e., published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.2.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


12.3 Aspire Scholarship Eureka Prize for Excellence in Interdisciplinary Scientific Research

12.3.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.3.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.3.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least three peer-reviewed articles (i.e., published in scientific journals or similar).

12.3.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within seven years of the Entry Deadline.


12.4 Australian Research Data Commons Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research Software

12.4.1 This prize is open to individuals and teams if the software development and maintenance activity (“the software activity”) is the result of a collaborative team effort. The team may be a succession of contributors to a software activity over a period. Activity delivered under the direction of one or more project leads is eligible.

12.4.2. For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.4.3 The software activity entered for this prize must have been referenced in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e., published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.4.4 The software activity entered for this prize must have been available to users for a minimum of three years prior to the Entry Deadline. See prize information page for further guidance.


12.5 Australian Infectious Diseases Research Centre Eureka Prize for Infectious Diseases Research

12.5.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.5.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.5.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least three peer-reviewed articles (i.e. published in a scientific journal, book or similar).

12.5.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within seven years of the Entry Deadline.


12.6 University of Sydney Eureka Prize for Sustainability Research

12.6.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.6.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.6.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e., published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.6.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


12.7 ANSTO Eureka Prize for Innovative Use of Technology

12.7.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.7.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.7.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e. published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.7.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within three years of the Entry Deadline.


12.8 Macquarie University Eureka Prize for Outstanding Early Career Researcher

12.8.1 This prize is open to individuals only.

12.8.2 Entrants must have been awarded their PhD (or equivalent first higher degree e.g., D.Phil., D.Psych., D.Sc) no more than five years prior to the Entry Deadline. For entrants whose work has been realised over a period longer than five years from PhD conferral due to one or more career interruptions, the five-year requirement will be extended by the length of the career interruption/s. See Clause 6.2 for a definition and more information.

12.8.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e. published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.8.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


12.9 Department of Defence Eureka Prize for Outstanding Science in Safeguarding Australia

12.9.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams.

12.9.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.9.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e., published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.9.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


12.10 UNSW Eureka Prize for Scientific Research

12.10.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams of individuals if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

12.10.2 For team entries see Clause 11.1.2.

12.10.3 Activity entered for this prize must have been published in at least one peer-reviewed article (i.e. published in a scientific journal or similar).

12.10.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


13. Category terms: Leadership prizes

13.1 Leadership prizes are open to individuals only. Teams are not eligible to apply.

13.2 The entrant must be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident.

13.3 Activity entered for Leadership prizes must have taken place in or been led from Australia, as defined in the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Terms and Conditions (Clause 6).

13.4 Entrants can either enter themselves or be nominated by another person. If an entrant is nominated it is important that they provide input into and consent to the submission of the entry documentation.

13.5 The activity entered or nominated for Leadership prizes may not be entered or nominated for another Australian Museum Eureka Prize in the same year.

13.6 Activity that has been awarded an Australian Museum Eureka Prize in the past cannot be entered again.

Additional prize specific eligibility is listed below.


14. Prize specific terms: Leadership prizes

14.1 Eureka Prize for Emerging Leader in Science

14.1.1 To be eligible, entrants must have been awarded their PhD (or equivalent first higher degree e.g., D.Phil., D.Psych., D.Sc) no more than eight years prior to the Entry Deadline. For entrants whose work has been realised over a period longer than eight years from PhD conferral due to one or more career interruptions, the eight-year requirement will be extended by the length of the career interruption/s. See Clause 6.2 for a definition and more information.


15. Category terms: Science Engagement prizes

15.1 Entrants can either enter themselves or be nominated by another person. If an entrant is nominated it is important that they provide input into and consent to the submission of the entry documentation.

15.2 The activity entered or nominated for a science engagement prize may not be entered or nominated for another Australian Museum Eureka Prize in the same year.

15.3 Activity that has been awarded an Australian Museum Eureka Prize in the past cannot be entered again.

15.4 In addition to the prize and category specific conditions of entry, all entrants must comply with the General Terms and Conditions of Entry.

16. Prize specific terms: Science Engagement prizes

16.1 Department of Industry, Science and Resources Eureka Prize for Innovation in Citizen Science

16.1.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams, if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

16.1.2 For team entries:

16.1.2.1 Comprising of between two and six individuals, the first listed entrant must be the team leader. You must describe the contribution of each individual to the research and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to the listed individuals. This explanation must be included in the ‘project summary.’

16.1.2.2 Comprising of more than six individuals, the listed entrant must be the team leader and they must enter under a team name. They are required to briefly describe the composition of the team and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to a team of more than six individuals. This explanation must be included in the ‘project summary.’

16.1.3 Citizenship

16.1.3.1 For an individual entry, the entrant must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident.

16.1.3.2 For team entries comprising of between two and six individuals, the team leader must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident. Members of the team do not have to fulfil this requirement.

16.1.3.3 For team entries comprising of more than six individuals, the team leader must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident. Members of the team do not have to fulfil this requirement.

16.1.4 Activity entered for this prize must have taken place in or been led from Australia, as defined by the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Terms and Conditions.

16.1.5 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


16.2 Celestino Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science

16.2.1 This prize is open to individual scientists only. Entrants must be practicing scientists, working in organisations that include but are not limited to research institutes, companies or universities.

16.2.2 The entrant must be either an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident.

16.2.3 Activity entered for this prize must have taken place in or been led from Australia, as defined in the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Terms and Conditions.

16.2.4 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within two years of the Entry Deadline.

16.2.5 For entrants whose work has been realised over a period longer than two years due to one or more career interruptions, the two-year requirement will be extended by the length of the career interruption/s, up to a maximum of one year. Entrants who have experienced eligible career interruption/s are still required to have undertaken communication activities within two years of the Entry Deadline. See Clause 6.2 for a definition and more information.


16.3 Australian Museum Eureka Prize for Science Journalism

16.3.1 The prize is open to individual journalists and teams of up to six people, if the work is the result of a collaborative team effort.

16.3.1.1 For team entries comprising of between two and six individuals, you must describe the contribution of each individual to the entered work and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to the listed individuals. This explanation must be included in the entrant’s statement (see ‘entry materials’ below). statement.

16.3.2 For individual entries, the entrant may only enter once per year.

16.3.3 All entrants must be Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents (whether entering individually or as part of a team).

16.3.4 To be eligible for consideration, all entered work must have been:

  • First published or broadcast no more than one year prior to the Entry Deadline (i.e. between 13 April 2023 and 12 April 2024); and
  • Readily accessible in Australia by subscription, newsstand sales, broadcast or digital access no more than one year prior to the Entry Deadline (i.e. between 13 April 2023 and 12 April 2024).

16.3.5 Work entered in this prize may consist of a single material or a series of related materials that best represent the entrant’s work, up to a maximum of three pieces of material per entry. All forms of media can be entered except for:

  • Collations of work previously published elsewhere.
  • Work which is only edited by, and not originally produced by, the entrant(s).
  • Books, magazines and whole websites.

16.3.6 Entered material/s must be the original work of the entrant. Where content from other sources has been incorporated for purposes of effective coverage of the topic, this must be attributed.

16.3.7 Entered work must adhere to the MEAA Journalist Code of Ethics.

16.3.8 Entered work must be based on independent acts of journalism, free from any commercial or corporate interests.

16.3.9 Entrants are required to declare and disclose any requests that have been made for corrections or challenges to the accuracy of the work entered, any claims of plagiarism or defamation that have been made against the work entered, and any published corrections or statements made concerning the work’s accuracy or authorship. This will not necessarily disqualify an entry – transparency is important for the judging process.


16.4 Department of Industry, Science and Resources Eureka Prize for STEM Inclusion

16.4.1 The prize is open to individuals and teams, if the achievement is the result of a collaborative team effort.

16.4.2 For team entries:

16.4.2.1 Comprising of between two and six individuals, the first listed entrant must be the team leader. You must describe the contribution of each individual to the research and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to the listed individuals. This explanation must be included in the ‘initiative summary.’

16.4.2.2 Comprising of more than six individuals, the listed entrant must be the team leader and they must enter under a team name. They are required to briefly describe the composition of the team and explain why the Eureka Prize should be jointly awarded to a team of more than six individuals. This explanation must be included in the ‘initiative summary.’

16.4.3 Citizenship

16.4.3.1 For an individual entry, the entrant must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident.

16.4.3.2 For team entries comprising of between two and six individuals, the team leader must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident. Members of the team do not have to fulfil this requirement.

16.4.3.3 For team entries comprising of more than six individuals, the team leader must be either an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident. Members of the team do not have to fulfil this requirement.

16.4.4 Activity entered for this prize must have taken place in or been led from Australia, as defined by the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Terms and Conditions.

16.4.5 Activity entered for this prize must have been undertaken within five years of the Entry Deadline.


17. Category terms: School Science Prize

17.1 University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize (Primary and Secondary School)

17.1.1 Films must be based on the 2024 theme, ‘Energy’.

17.1.2 Films must be two minutes in duration and no longer.

17.1.3 Entry is free and open to all primary and secondary school students studying at schools in Australia or its territories (as defined by the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Terms and Conditions). Students that are educated at home in accordance with the relevant state or territory legislation are also eligible to enter.

17.1.4 Entries may be submitted by an individual student or a team of no more than six students. Entries comprising more than six students are ineligible. If an entry was created by more than one person, it should be entered in the appropriate category for the oldest member of the group.

17.1.5 Individuals can only enter once in any year, whether individually or in a group.

17.1.6 Entrants must ensure that all content in their film is their own or that they have the right to use any third party content in their film. It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to secure permission from any third-party owners of content included in their film, including footage, music and images. The AM takes no responsibility for any failure by an entrant to obtain the necessary permissions. Films found to contain unauthorised content or that infringe any third party intellectual property rights will be disqualified.

17.1.7 Entrants aged under 18 years of age may only enter the University of Sydney Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize with the consent of a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian of the entrant must read and agree to be bound to these Terms & Conditions on behalf of the entrant. By submitting an entry on behalf of individuals aged under 18, the entrant accepts these terms and conditions on behalf of the individuals listed in the application and confirms that the parent/guardian of each individual under 18 years of age has read and accepted these terms and conditions and provided consent for this entry.

17.1.8 Films must be independently financed, written and produced primarily by the individual entrant/s, and they must make all key decisions relating to the submitted film. Entrants are required to indicate on the entry form the nature and extent of any assistance they receive from their school, teachers, parents/guardians, etc.

17.1.9 By submitting your entry, you give the AM a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use and reproduce your entry in whole or in part for the purposes of the Eureka Prizes or the purposes of the AM more generally.

17.1.10 All entries must be submitted online by the Entry Deadline. If you experience issues in uploading your entry or have concerns about what has been uploaded, you must contact the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes via phone (02) 9320 6230 or email eureka@australian.museum before the Entry Deadline. The Australian Museum Eureka Prizes administrators cannot modify or add to an entry after the Entry Deadline.
