Introduction
Christmas Island Flying-foxes are often seen flying and foraging during the mid-afternoon. They are one of the few species of bats that are active during the day.
Habitat
Christmas Island Flying-foxes roost in rainforest trees in camps of up to several hundred.
Distribution
Christmas Island Flying-foxes eat the fruit and blossom of rainforest trees, including the flowers of coconut palms.
Conservation status
Christmas Island Flying-foxes are vulnerable to loss of feeding and roosting habitat.
