There are around 4,000 described species of spider in Australia. They have an amazing variety of adaptations that help them live underground, in the leaf litter, on plants, and even in the sky and under the water.

The Sydney Funnel Web Spider is a burrower and it is the most venomous spider in the world.
Wolf Spiders are amazing mothers. Females carry their egg sac around with them and when the spiderlings hatch, hundreds of them hitch a ride on their mother’s back.
Many weavers eat their own web and rebuild it the next day.
