The transparent and jewel-like red, hexagonal vanadinite (lead chloro-vanadate) crystals contrast nicely with the crested baryte (barium sulphate) crystals over which they are scattered.

This specimen was purchased from Albert Chapman who bought it at the 1980 Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in the USA.
