This fine specimen has large striated cubic crystals of pyrite (iron sulphide). It was acquired by Albert Chapman from the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in the USA.

It was offered to the Australian Museum and the funds were raised via a donation box outside the former Planet of Minerals exhibition.
