Little is known about this wooden statue in the World Cultures collection. It was acquired by the museum in 1914 and is from Beijing. It is assumed to be of a Buddhist Monk rather than the Buddha. It is made of wood and gilded with gold leaf.
This 3D model of the sculpture was captured using a technique called Photogrammetry which involves taking many photographs of an object from different angles and 'stitching' them together to make a 3D model.
