Introduction

Very little is known about Eastern False Pipistrelles or Falsistrelles. They are under threat from intensive forestry in their habitat.

Habitat

Eastern Falsistrelle roost in hollows in old trees in higher rainfall forests. However they occasionally roost in disused buildings.

Distribution

Distribution data sourced from the Atlas of Living Australia

Feeding and diet

Eastern Falsistrelles feed on insects, including moths, beetles and ants.

Conservation status

Eastern Falsistrelles are vulnerable to loss of roost sites in tree hollows and loss of feeding grounds by forestry activities, clearing for agriculture and housing.
