- Teachers/supervisors (within supervision ratio) – Free

*Applicable weekdays during NSW School term dates ONLY. All prices are per person, include GST.

Please note, bookings made within 2 weeks of your visit will require confirmation of final attendance numbers at the time of your booking. Payments in full are required prior to your visit.

Making a booking
To register your interest for an education booking, click on ‘Education bookings’ above. Select a preferred date and time and then enter your groups’ details in the form.
A member of our team will be in contact with you within 7 days to confirm your booking. While your preferred date and time cannot be guaranteed, our team will do their best to align with your selection.
Bookings must be made at least four weeks in advance. If your visit is within four weeks, please contact the Group Bookings Office.
To make a tourism trade booking please contact tourism@australian.museum directly and a member of our team will be in contact within 7 days.
The maximum group size is 200 people per 30 minute session.
Students and children must be accompanied by a teacher or supervisor. Student discipline is the responsibility of teachers and supervisors.
To support student/child management, teachers and supervisors attend free within our recommended supervision ratios.
The following ratios apply for schools and groups:
- Preschool- Year 2: 1 teacher to 5 students
- Years 3-6: 1 teacher to 10 students
- Years 7-12: 1 teacher to 15 students
- Tertiary: 1 teacher to 15 students
- Students with additional needs: 1 adult to 1 student
Additional teachers outside the ratio will be charged at full price.
After you have confirmed your numbers with the Group Bookings Office you will be issued a tax invoice. Payment can be made by credit card over the phone or by EFT or cheque. Payment must be made in full prior to your visit.

Before your visit
Contact our Group Bookings Office at least 2 weeks prior to your visit. You will be invoiced based on the final number confirmed. Payment must be made in full prior to your visit.

You will not receive individual tickets. When you have confirmed your final numbers and paid for your booking, you will be sent a booking confirmation for entry to the exhibition.
Bag storage is available for pre-booked school groups near the Education Rooms (LG) and student amenities. We encourage you to bring only what is essential for your visit. Small bags for medication or lunch are recommended. Please do not bring valuable items.
You must arrive 30 minutes before your booked session time.
We recommend between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours to experience the exhibition.
