Elaine joined the Australian Museum as a Technical Officer in Entomology in 2025, preparing specimens in the order Hymenoptera (ants, bees, and wasps) for digitising. Prior to this, Elaine worked as a bush regenerator around Sydney and volunteered to help catalogue the Australian Museum’s bee specimens. Elaine is an avid bird watcher and bush walker and likes to illustrate and read about the natural world.


Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Biology, University of Utah. Thesis: “Colony founding biology in a genus of temperate social parasite ants with a focus on the western thatching ant Formica obscuripes”.
  • Bachelor of Ecology and Evolution, University of California, Santa Barbara. Minor in Professional Writing.
