Gain confidence in embedding authentic First Nations voices and perspectives in the History classroom in this NSW Education Standard Authority (NESA) accredited teacher professional development program at the Australian Museum.

Effectively integrating First Nations voices into your teaching practices can be a daunting task, especially in History education where First Nations content is explicitly taught from stages 4 to 6. This teacher professional development workshop will help teachers embed First Nations perspectives in authentic and meaningful ways across their teaching and learning programs.

Together we will explore First Nations pedagogies and resources, truth-telling, and reflect on our classroom practices through a range of collaborative activities. We aim to provide each participant with a strong theoretical foundation drawn from First Nations scholarship, before demonstrating learning activities you can take back to your classroom.
