Get ready for a spectacularly spooky night as Sydney's iconic Jurassic Lounge returns, with a gothic twist! With the full moon in the sky, explore the hallowed halls of Australia’s first museum as it crawls with DJs, artists, scientists and performers for a frightfully fun night.
Celebrate the final weeks of our blockbuster exhibition, Bloodsuckers: Nature's Vampires, and embrace the darkness with an unforgettable night of gothic delights and scientific spectacle. Shake your bones amongst the dinos, grab a drink from the pop-up bars, slither through the exhibitions and drop into a range of terrifying craft and science activations.
This night is for everyone; whether you’re a Jurassic Lounge loyalist, a first-timer or a little sci-curious… you'll be basking in the moonlight!
This event is 18+ only. ID must be shown on entry (please make sure your face is visible and identifiable). Terms of Entry apply. All kinds of real or toy weapons are strictly prohibited.

A Taste of the Lineup
Time: 5.30pm - 6.30pm

Kick your night off right, with this limited capacity pre-party, hosted on the top floor of the Museum! Arrive an hour before the crowds and enjoy a cocktail, canapés and an exclusive performance from Sydney Drag Royalty, all with one of the best views in Sydney!
A slate of ghoulish DJs are rocking the Museum all night, including Sexy Galexy, Lou P Scarlet and Justin Rynne, who are sure to send your spirits soaring.
Across the night, the icons of Sydney Drag Royalty are bringing glitz to the galleries, with multiple gothic and glamourous performances.
New this year, the Spooky Silent Disco is moving into the Dinosaurs gallery (L2), giving you the chance to shake your bones amongst the fiercest creatures of the Mesozoic era.
A thrilling range of workshops and activities are scattered throughout the event, giving you a chance to flex your artistic and scientific muscles!
Brendan de la Hay is hosting a range of fearsome and fascinating talks with specialists from the Australian Museum Research Institute (AMRI).
Be blown away by Gunkamena the Witch and her Spooky Science Show, bringing terrifying experiments to life in the Theatre!
Feeling sketchy? Drop into a Splatter and Sketch Workshop and experiment with ink splatters and scientific drawing with paleo-artist Celia Curtis.
Ready for a round of Gothic Ghost Stories? Bundjalung, Arrente and Kalkadoon actor and storyteller Madeleine Madden is sending chills down your spine with a series of tales from SJ Norman’s Permafrost.
Come dressed to impress and you might be picked to be part of our Best dis(Dressed) Competition! The most freaky, fabulous and gorgeously gothic costumes will storm the stage and be in the running to win some fantastic prizes:

Judging takes place 6pm - 7.30pm throughout the Museum, with the spectacular showcase of costumes hitting the mainstage at 8.30pm and final winners decided at 9.30pm.
There are pop-up bars and three market-style food stalls making sure you're fuelled up to party:
