Introduction

Talbot's Demoiselle can be recognised by its colouration. It has a purplish to grey body. The species occurs in marine waters of the Western Pacific.

Identification

Talbot's Demoiselle can be recognised by its colouration. It has a purplish to grey body. The head and pelvic fins are yellow. There is a large black spot on the dorsal fin.

The holotype of C. talboti was collected at One Tree Island, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland in December 1969. It is stored in the Australian Museum Fish Collection (AMS I.15684-004).

Habitat

The species occurs on coral reefs.

Distribution

The species occurs in marine waters of the Western Pacific. In Australia, Talbot's Demoiselle is known from the offshore reefs of north-western Western Australia and the entire length of the Great Barrier Reef.
