Stephen Mahony
Stephen Mahony has a long interest in the diversity of Australia’s reptiles and amphibians, especially of geckos. Following this interest, Stephen has volunteered with conservation and research projects across Australia to gain knowledge in the diversity of Australia’s reptiles and amphibians. This has linked Stephen with his passion for photography, which he uses to document the animals he finds in nature.
As a Research Associate, he is investigating ecology and population genetics of the recently recognised Hunter Valley Delma (Delma vescolineata) a threatened species revealed by museum research. Stephen also takes an active collaboration role in taxonomic research on Australian frogs.
