Profile

I work in the Australian Museum's DNA laboratory, performing genetic investigations of biodiversity. Using DNA sequencing, my work helps to reveal the evolutionary relationships between different species of animals. Some of my work involves obtaining DNA out of museum specimens, such as mammal bones, to assist researchers who are investigating those specimens. I help curate (take care of) the frozen tissue collection, which provides a valuable source of DNA, RNA and proteins from many many different animal species. It is used by researchers from all around the world for their own research into animal evolution.
