Learn about First Nations histories and cultures in this teacher professional development program.

Waranara means ‘to seek’ in the First Nations languages of the Sydney region - seek knowledge, seek truth, seek understanding.

This teacher professional development is aimed at primary teachers and covers NESA Proficient Teacher Standards 2.4.2, delivered by First Nations educators.

Participants will learn accurate histories of our First Nations peoples and how the action of truth telling informs best practice in teaching Aboriginal content.

Practice in authentically embedding Aboriginal content throughout teaching and learning programs will be reflected in collaborative learning, including creating and sharing program components.

Pedagogies and strategies that best support and enrich a diversity of learning styles will be explored.

Through the generous support of our philanthropic donors the Australian Museum is offering this program for free for a limited time.

"It was so beneficial to learn from brilliant educators with a high level of knowledge and experience, willing to share."

"I learned things I did not know and I thought I was quite knowledgeable about our history."

"It was structured perfectly, with the right amount of independent tasks, visual and media offerings, and of course a brilliant tour followed by question time and weaving."

100% of participants rated the course the highest possible scale: excellent.
