Join us for Scientist for a Day these spring holidays and step into the exciting world of dinosaurs! Designed for curious young minds aged 9-12, this full-day workshop gives aspiring scientists the chance to explore the Australian Museum's Dinosaurs Gallery, come face-to-face with incredible prehistoric creatures, and discover how dinosaurs adapted to a changing world. Participants will also enjoy an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of our collections laboratory, where fossils are carefully studied and preserved. Along the way, they'll meet scientists from the Australian Museum Research Institute, hear fascinating stories of discovery, and have their questions answered by real experts. Packed with exploration, discovery and hands-on learning, this unforgettable adventure will bring the wonders of Earth's ancient past to life.

Dr Tim Holland is Collection Manager for Palaeontology at the Australian Museum. Tim became fascinated by fossils as a child, leading him to study ancient Devonian fish at university.

After finishing his PhD, Tim worked in multiple museums around Australia where he gained experience collecting, preparing and caring for thousands of fossils, including the ancient bones of dinosaurs, marine reptiles, amphibians, fish and mammals.
