AM Trust President, Brian Hartzer, said Mr Chisholm's appointment would significantly strengthen the Board's capacity to guide the AM through a critical period of growth and community engagement.

“Michael's depth in financial strategy, governance, and risk management makes him an outstanding fit for the AM Trust at this important moment in the AM’s evolution. His extensive experience partnering with the wealth sector and philanthropists means he brings perspectives that will complement and strengthen the existing board to ensure we achieve our future goals," Mr Hartzer said.

Australian Museum Director and CEO, Kim McKay AO, welcomed the appointment ahead of the AM’s landmark bicentennial in 2027.

"The AM will mark its 200th anniversary in 2027, and our board contributes the strategic, financial, and philanthropic expertise to match our ambitions. Michael's track record of working alongside Australia's most significant charitable foundations combined with the perspective he brings from LGT, a firm internationally recognised for its longstanding commitment to sustainable investing, makes him a valuable addition to our Trust," Ms McKay said.

Mr Chisholm began his career with KPMG as a Chartered Accountant before spending 19 years with UBS across Sydney, London, New York, and Stamford CT, holding roles including Chief Risk Officer of UBS Investment Bank and Head of UBS Wealth Management Australia. In 2015, he co-founded Crestone Wealth Management, which was acquired by LGT in 2022 to create LGT Crestone, now rebranded as LGT Wealth Management.

Mr Chisholm said he was honoured to join the AM Trust at such a significant moment in the institution's history.

"The Australian Museum occupies a unique and vital place in Australia's cultural life as a centre of world-class scientific research, First Nations knowledge, education and community connection. I look forward to

contributing to its governance and to supporting the remarkable work that I have always admired," Mr Chisholm said.
