Become a wildlife champion and take home your own habitat diorama in this free craft workshop and talk that dives into the wonderful worlds of our closest neighbours - birds, bats, and bees.
Hosted by Dr Jenny Newell (Australian Museum Curator for Climate Change) and Dr Zoë Sadokierski (University of Technology Sydney Visual Communications Professor), this playful session explores Australian wildlife and the way you can help protect them.

Dr Jenny Newell is the Curator for Climate Change at the Climate Solutions Centre, Australian Museum, Sydney. She works to advance understanding and engagement in the climate crisis, through exhibitions, events, digital resources and community collaborations. With a background in environmental history and a focus on Australia and the Pacific, she has used her curatorial roles at the British Museum, National Museum of Australia, the American Museum of Natural History and the Australian Museum to explore and advance positive human-nature relationships. Jenny convenes the Museums & Climate Change Network and Sydney Cultural Institutions for Climate Action (SCICA). Her exhibitions include Spark: Australian Innovations Tackling Climate Change (2021) and the touring exhibition about sustainability and regeneration, Future Now (2022-).
Dr Zoë Sadokierski

Professor Zoë Sadokierski is a designer, writer, creative producer and Associate Professor in Visual Communication at the University of Technology Sydney School of Design. her practice-based research explores ways that visual communication - particularly illustrated nonfiction, data storytelling and anarchival collage - can be used to engage audiences with complex scientific and cultural issues. She is a former president and founding member of the Australian Booker Designers Association. In 2015, Zoë established Page Screen Books, an independent publisher of artists 'books and visual essays. Her works on paper and artist books have been exhibited and collected internationally. Her book Father, Son and Other Animals (2024) explores climate change and species extinctions through the lenses of parenting and creative practice.
