Ages: 5 - 12 years

Get ready for an adventure with nature photographer Tom Covell! You'll meet incredible live animals up close, including cockroaches, spiders and even a scorpion, then learn how to capture them on camera like a pro.

Tom will teach you how to frame the perfect shot, use lighting and angles, and work with shadows to make your photos pop. You'll explore the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year exhibition for inspiration, then head across the street to the gardens for a real nature photography expedition.

Whether you're photographing tiny insects or towering trees, you'll discover how to see the natural world through a photographer's lens and take home skills you can use anywhere.

Please bring your own camera, phone or tablet to use during the workshop. We will have some iPads available to borrow on the day if required.

If using a Creative Kids Voucher to book, please choose your program carefully as once your voucher has been submitted the value cannot be recovered if your child, for any reason, does not participate in the program.

Please refer to the Service NSW website for the terms and conditions for Creative Kids Vouchers and the Australian Museum Terms and Conditions for use of Creative Kids Vouchers. Creative Kids vouchers must be submitted a week before the event.
