You are providing your name and contact information to submit an enquiry or subscribe to a newsletter managed by the Australian Museum (AM). The information you have given the Australian Museum will only be used for your enquiry, and directly related actions arising from that enquiry, or newsletter subscription. Newsletters are offered as an ‘opt in’ subscription. You can 'opt out' at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter.
The Australian Museum may provide your name and contact information to a service provider who distributes the email newsletter. The Australian Museum will not disclose your personal information to anybody else unless required or authorised by law, such as by court order.
The Australian Museum will store your personal information:
- for as long as you subscribe to an AM newsletter; or
- until your enquiry is resolved or concluded.
If you unsubscribe from a newsletter, your information may not be permanently deleted from the service provider system. Instead it is stored on a suppression list that prevents future emails from being sent to your email address.
To have your data permanently removed from the suppression list database, please email a request with subject title Delete my personal information to privacy@australian.museum, or write a letter to:
