Join us for a special after-hours experience designed just for educators. Our quarterly Teachers' Nights give you exclusive access to explore our exhibitions, connect with the Education team, and discover how the Australian Museum can bring your teaching to life.
What to expect
- Complimentary after-hours access to explore select exhibitions
- Meet our Education and Group Bookings teams to discuss programs tailored to your needs
- Discover curriculum-aligned programs across year levels and learning areas
- A relaxed, drop-in style experience where you can explore at your own pace
- Drop in First Nations gallery tours and weaving workshops
- Family-friendly event, educators can book 3 additional tickets for family or friends
Arrive from 4:30pm to explore the Museum at your leisure. Check in with the Education team on arrival and have your ticket ready for scanning.
Eligibility
Open to current educators in schools or education facilities, pre-service teachers, and those who influence excursion planning decisions. Proof of employment or student status may be requested.
Upcoming dates
Teachers' nights are completely free for eligible educators!
Eligible educators must currently be employed in a school setting or other education facility, be a pre-service teacher or be in a capacity to influence excursion or learning resource choices.
Follow the registration process on the 'upcoming dates' pages above to book your place. Each attendee will need to provide contact details as part of the registration process.
Enter the Museum via the Crystal Hall entrance on the corner of William St and College St.
Confirm your registration with the education team on arrival.
Can homeschooling parents attend? Yes, we welcome parents and teachers who are homeschooling students. Eligible educators must be in a capacity to influence excursion or learning resource choices.
Can student teachers attend? Yes, we love to support future teachers and educators and would be happy to welcome Teaching and Education tertiary students.
Is this open for Teachers from Community language schools? Yes, we welcome teachers from Community language schools. Eligible educators must be in a capacity to influence excursion or learning resource choices.
Is this open for SLSOs (School Learning Support Officers)? Yes, we welcome SLSOs and ASLOs. Eligible educators must be in a capacity to influence excursion or learning resource choices.
If I am not local, what are my options to attend? Outside of our Teachers' Nights, we are always more than happy to speak directly or meet with teachers about our programs, exhibitions and excursions.
