I have finally reached the boundary of Kon Ka Kinh National Park, in the highlands of central Vietnam. I've come here for an eleven-night amphibian field survey.

My travel to this park commenced several days ago with a flight from Sydney to Hanoi, via Hong Kong. Once in Hanoi, I met up with my Vietnamese friends and colleagues, and we had spent a few days in Hanoi getting our gear together, then we flew to central Vietnam.

This morning we purchased all our food for the next two weeks (no supermarkets in the forest!), and then took a minibus several hours to the park. Tomorrow our amphibian surveys will begin!
