Southern Gulf Pipefish, Stigmatopora narinosa Brown & Smith, 2007
Scientific name: Stigmatopora narinosa
Introduction
The species appears to be confined to the gulfs of South Australia
Identification
The Southern Gulf Pipefish is grey-green above with reddish cross-bands. It looks similar to the Spotted Pipefish, but males have a deeper, more compressed snout.
Habitat
It occurs in shallow (to 5 m) coastal areas of seagrass and brown algae.
