Oblique-banded Snapper, Pristipomoides zonatus (Valenciennes, 1830)
Introduction
The Oblique-banded Snapper can be recognised by its colouration, featuring red body with broad yellow bands. The species occurs in tropical waters of the Indo-West and Central Pacific.

Habitat
The species is found near rocky bottoms at depths between 70 m and 350 m.
Distribution
The species occurs in tropical waters of the Indo-West and Central Pacific. In Australia it is known from the northern Great Barrier Reef, Queensland to off northern New South Wales.
