Distribution data sourced from the Atlas of Living Australia

Feeding and diet

Northern Leaf-nosed Bats eat moths, mosquitoes and flies. They fly slowly with a flutter, like a butterfly but can change direction quickly as they hunt their prey.

Conservation status

Northern Leaf-nosed Bats are vulnerable to disturbance from human visitors to cave roosts, destruction of caves by mining, and loss of feeding habitat by clearing and land degradation from agriculture.
