Heather Pereira

Heather is an experienced museum professional with 15 years’ experience in the sector, dedicated to preserving history and culture. She has worked across a range of museums, including Powerhouse, the Museum of Art and Culture yapang, and the Australian Museum, developing extensive expertise in collection management and exhibition coordination.

As a Project Officer, Heather assesses, documents, catalogues and digitises First Nations, Pasifika and World Cultures collections. She is committed to enhancing these collections while ensuring cultural protocols are respected. Her work focuses on improving record accuracy and strengthening documentation to support the preservation, understanding and accessibility of collections.

Alongside her professional work, Heather has a strong interest in palaeontology and the natural sciences, which she studied at the University of New England.
