Westpac: The Westpac Long Gallery

In 2015, Westpac became the Australian Museum’s Principal Partner. Westpac’s generous support enabled the major restoration of Australia’s first museum gallery. This partnership included decade long naming rights for one of Australia’s most iconic cultural collections.

The Westpac Long Gallery was completed in 2017 marking the AM’s 190th and Westpac’s 200th anniversary. The restored gallery continues to host a permanent exhibition of the 200 Treasures of the Australian Museum celebrating the people and objects that have shaped the nation.

In 2018, Westpac extended its support of the exhibition through an immersive digital projection, Treasures Illuminated - transforming a traditional exhibition space into an immersive digital and sound experience free of charge for all visitors.

In May 2018, The Westpac Long Gallery was awarded The National Trust Heritage Award – Built Heritage demonstrating the calibre of the collaboration.
