Make the most of the April school holidays with a conservation adventure! We invite young explorers to have fun discovering what it takes to preserve and protect the Museum's specimens and learn how conservators care for our incredible collection.

In a full-day experience, come behind-the-scenes at the Collection, Care & Conservation lab and meet one of our expert Conservators as they share the secrets of protecting over 22 million specimens. Understand what conservation really means and why it matters, then put your skills to the test with hands-on challenges: master the art of packing fragile objects in our egg drop experiment, become pest detectives hunting for clues about which creatures cause what damage, and work together to carefully restore collection items that have been damaged.
