AM Members are invited to an exclusive event to celebrate the opening of the 2021 Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year, a South Australian Museum exhibition.

Guests will enjoy morning tea in our newly refurbished Members Lounge before a talk presented by Scott Portelli, winner of this year’s Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year award. Scott will share the story behind his winning shot Leafy Night, a stunning image of the elusive leafy sea dragon photographed during lockdown on the Fleurieu Peninsula in remote South Australia.

Following the talk, guests will have the opportunity to ask Scott questions and learn more about his photographic practice, a unique opportunity for photography and nature enthusiasts alike.

Join Scott for a viewing of the exhibition and experience more than 100 sensational wildlife and nature photos on display. Witness unique flora, wildlife with attitude and incredible landscapes from our own backyard and the world around us. From an octopus in the depths of the Lembeh Strait in Indonesia to turtles on Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia and the majestic fjords of New Zealand.

Light refreshments will be provided.

*Please advise any access requirements in your registration.
