Ages: 4-12 years

In this 30 minute interactive workshop delve into the archaeology of Ancient Egypt with educators from Macquarie University. Learn about the meaning of Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and how they were used. Then get hands on and experience what it is like to be a real life archaeologist, with replica artefacts often found in an archaeological context.

Suited to Member children 4-12 aged years. Children must be at least 4 years to participate.

Alexandra Doubleday's study focuses on Egyptian Archaeology. She has recently returned from fieldwork in Luxor, Egypt, working on the Macquarie University Theban Tombs project on the New Kingdom (1550 – 1070 BC) Tombs of the Nobles. Her focus was on archaeological drawing and the large ceramics corpus of Tomb 147.
