Join us for an exclusive breakfast with celebrated explorer, adventurer, and environmental scientist Tim Jarvis AM.

In a unique event hosted by the Australian Museum’s Director and CEO Kim McKay, come behind-the-scenes to the prestigious Australian Museum Boardroom to enjoy a continental breakfast and conversation with Tim. Just metres from the display of Douglas Mawson's sledge in the Westpac Long Gallery, be captivated by Tim's tales of the Antarctic, his daring adventures to honour early explorers and his passion for the landscape and environment of this unique corner of the world. Hear first-hand about his recreation of Sir Ernest Shackleton's ill-fated Antarctic expedition that led to the film production Thin Ice VR and ask Tim questions to gain further insight into his extraordinary adventures.

After breakfast, visit the Museum’s showcase of Thin Ice VR, guided by Tim himself. In this immersive virtual reality experience, journey through the ice and snow, trekking over perilous ice peaks and down steep icy descents. Relive Jarvis' modern-day recreation of Shackleton's expedition and witness the dramatic changes in the Antarctic landscape. Set to inspire climate consciousness, Thin Ice VR promises you an unforgettable experience.

Don’t miss your chance to engage with the former Australian Museum Explorer in Residence – "An adventurer who never chooses the easy road."
