    Males up to 49 mm mantle length while females up to 80 mm mantle length.

Identification

Sepia braggi can be identified by the pinkish brown colouring and distinctive purplish band on arms each side of the dorsal midline. Arm and club sucker rings are pale brown. The club on this species is slightly curved with 4 to 6 suckers in transverse rows.
The cuttlebone of the slender cuttlefish is elongate and rounded at the anterior end. The colouring is rose posteriorly and white anteriorly while the dorsal surface has distinct narrow ribs.

Habitat

The Slender Cuttlefish is found at depths between 30 and 86 metres.

Distribution

Sepia braggi is endemic to Australia and is found in coastal waters from southern NSW around to Western Australia.
