Email Stuart Humphreys

Stuart is a professional photographer, based in Sydney with over 25 years’ experience specialising in scientific, art and cultural collections photography.

He was Senior Photographer at the Australian Museum for over 20 years. Recently he has worked with the University of Sydney digitising the collections of The Macleay Museum, The Nicholson Museum and University Art Gallery and Stanton Library, documenting their social history archives.

Stuart has worked with a diverse range of clients including museums, art galleries, cultural and educational institutions, scientists, researchers, cultural leaders, independent artists and collection specialists. Creating imagery for the purposes of documentation, publication and publicity, he has covered everything from Egyptian mummies to pieces of Mars, whales to insects from sacred objects to biological material as well as priceless gemstones and naturally, the people who work with them.
