Email Rebecca Fisher

Rebecca Fisher has extensive experience working in museum registration and collection care roles. After graduating with her Master of Museum Studies from the University of Sydney in 2007, Rebecca first worked in the Registration department at the Australian National Maritime Museum, then as a Collections Officer at Sydney University Museums, and a research assistant.

Rebecca joined the Cultural Collections team at the Australian Museum in 2010, first working on a Tapa cloth storage project for the Pacific collection and then becoming Collection Officer for the First Nations Cultural Collections from 2011 to 2020. Since then, Rebecca has acted in various roles at the Australian Museum, including acting Digitisation Manager- Cultural Collections, Registrar- Cultural Collections and currently Programs Coordinator- Cultural Collections.

Rebecca has worked on various projects during her time at the Australian Museum, including registration tasks, new acquisitions, loans, audits, EMu database maintenance and improvements, collection moves, collection photography and gallery refurbishments. She also had a photograph taken by her included on the Australia Post stamp Collections Australia 70c Turtle, by Ellarose Savage, and presented in the Australian Musuem webinar Right of reply: Reconnecting community knowledge to cultural belongings. Most recently, Rebecca has implemented the AIATSIS AustLang thesaurus into our EMu database.
