Understanding Museums: Australian Museums and Museology, is a new e-publication edited by Des Griffin and Leon Paroissien. What it's all about?

"Understanding Museums: Australian Museums and Museology, focuses on the changes that have taken place in Australian museums of all kinds since the 1970s. It takes as a source of inspiration the Pigott Report into Australia’s museums, which was published in 1975."

A wide range of authors have contributed to the publication, resulting in an important record of the state of museum practice in contemporary Australia within an historic context. The first instalment has just been released online here, with the second due in July.
