Jasmine Samuel-Mata and Raven Nicholls are former National and International Cook Islands Dance Champions with over 28 years of combined experience in dance competitions and the entertainment industry in the Cook Islands and Australia. The duo founded Manea Pacifica in 2012 to offer a fresh perspective on Cook Islands culture through youth-focused dance.

In 2018, Jasmine launched Manea Ura Academy due to growing demand from parents for cultural education rather than performance. The following year, they opened Australia’s first Cook Islands Dance Studio in Granville, Sydney, which served around 80 students before temporarily closing due to COVID-19. Jasmine transitioned to online teaching, expanding the Academy’s reach to 45 countries. Manea Pacifica has built a strong reputation performing at major events like the Sydney Waitangi Day Festival and Samoa Independence Day, in addition to being featured on Channel 9 and Fox Sports, collaborating with artists such as Guy Sebastian and Olivia Foa’i.
