Email Alison Mercieca

Alison is a dedicated museum professional with over two decades in the cultural heritage sector, including the National Museum of Australia, National Archives of Australia, National Film and Sound Archives, The Powerhouse and Australian Museum. She has held diverse roles throughout her career, including curating collections and exhibitions, creating and delivering education programs, registration, copyright and collection digitisation programs, as well as having published and presented her work on local and international platforms.

Alison is currently a Project Officer in the Cultural Collections Enhancement Project, where she is able to indulge in her twin interests of archaeology and museum collections. Implementing her analytical and problem-solving skills, she is responsible for auditing and documenting the Aboriginal Archaeology collections to enhance collection data, but most importantly to facilitate connections between First Nations communities and their cultural heritage.

With lived experience, Alison is also a keen advocate for Accessibility and Inclusion in the workplace.
