Discover the captivating world of photography this school holidays, hosted by experienced photographer and teacher Janice Cameron. Designed for teens with either beginner or advanced photography knowledge, bring nature into focus as you enhance your skills and creativity.
To begin, Janice guides a tour of the Museum’s current special exhibition, 2023 Australian Geographic Photographer of the Year, a South Australian Museum exhibition. Then, be inspired by the colour, angles and subject matter while gaining practical insights into essential photographic techniques such as framing and composition.
Back in the workshop, Janice will share her expert photography knowledge and help you with basic editing functions on your camera. Apply your newfound skills in real-time capturing stunning images of static and live animals, such as phasmids, cockroaches, and spiders.
Set to keep you snapping away for the rest of the holidays, don't miss this chance to elevate your photography skills!
Please bring your own device (camera, smartphone or tablet) on the day, as the Museum will have limited devices on-hand to borrow.

Janice Cameron is an experienced photographer and educator dedicated to inspiring and empowering young creatives. With over a decade of experience, Janice has collaborated with primary schools, Inner West Council, TASK (The After School Klub) and the National Maritime Museum, running digital photography courses and workshops. Janice’s programs promote self-awareness, positive self-image, and creativity, aiming to ignite a lifelong photography skill.
