As part of the Dinosaur Festival, join us for the free, family-friendly event T.rex Autopsy, where we peel back the skin and dive deep inside one of Earth's most mysterious creatures. This live show, taking place in the Museum’s Theatre, will ignite curiosity as we delve into dinosaur anatomy.

Tyrannosaurus rex, or the ‘Tyrant Lizard King’, roamed the North American landscape of forests, open plains, and rivers during the Late Cretaceous period, 68 to 66 million years ago. Combining the fields of biology and palaeontology, discover how these massive beasts lived and how this one died. Our guides will present details of dinosaur anatomy, providing a unique and educational adventure for the whole family.

Embark on an unforgettable exploration of the mighty T.rex.

Continue the exploration and visit the world's first anatomically correct model of a T.rex, a dissected 11-metre long replica, in the Australian Museum's Dinosaur Gallery on Level 2.

Please be advised some seats in the Theatre have obstructed views. There is no allocated seating, it will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
